National Day

What an amazing time we had celebrating 45 years of the UAE in our National Day celebrations in school on Tuesday. The children (and teachers) all enjoyed dressing up and Buntings class made a Visitors Guide to Ras Al Khaimah as part of our house activities.

UAE Innovation week

To mark UAE Innovation Week Year 3 have been very busy investigating 2D and 3D shapes. We worked collaboratively to construct different 3D shapes and described their properties. Can you name the shapes that we made?

Shape Sorters

Play 'Guess My Shape'.
Choose a 2D shape and keep it in your head. Get a partner to ask you questions about your shape. You can only answer with 'yes' and 'no'.  How many questions does your partner need to ask before they guess the shape you were thinking of?

Buntings Talk the Text

This week in English we have been learning to talk the text in preparation for writing our non-chronological reports. We created symbols for the words and then orally rehearsed our paragraphs. Listen to our group paragraph about the habitat of our sea creature. Can you spot our generalisers?

Read in 7 Challenge!

As part of the UAE's new National Reading Law we stopped everything at 11am today and read for 7 minutes. It was really fun to stop in the middle of our lessons and just read a book! Here are some photos of us reading our books.

The Robunt

Year 3 Buntings have been orally rehearsing the introduction to their non-chronological reports. Check out the group below called "Kings Of the Sea" who wrote about their creature called the Robunt...only found in Abu Dhabi. Can you give them any tips of what they could do to improve it?
